It’s extremely important to be able to have access to those two items because you always want to know what the vehicle is worth before you do your bidding. If you are not careful or educated about the vehicle’s value, you might end up paying much more than the car is worth. The other reason is because you want to make sure the title of the vehicle is a clean title. If it is not, don’t even bother bidding on it, because it might cost you more money and time than the car is even worth to get the title issues fixed.

What makes teak the best material for bath mats?

So you are updating your bathroom, renovating, or just looking to replace your bath mat. You are on the fence, and just not sure if you want to go with teak or something cheaper, or more traditional. Here are a few things to consider before you make your decision.

A Teak Mat Will Not Mold

Let’s say you get a cloth bath mat, and use it on a standard tile or linoleum floor. After just a few days of use, enough water will have soaked in to begin fostering mildew, and the floor below will begin to dampen. In just over a week, there can be enough moisture build-up to allow mold to begin to grow. The damp cloth provides a perfect environment for mold and bacteria to thrive.

What if you go with a rubber bath mat? Because rubber forms a seal against the flooring below, you can still experience accelerated mold growth. Additionally, rubber does not offer nearly the absorbing power of cloth, so more water will remain on your feet, which could end up being hazardous.

With teak, the upper level of the mat is suspended above the ground, so there is no seal trapping water against your flooring. Water is allowed to drip free of your feet, providing a safe shower exit, and then quickly dries. Since teak is naturally resistant to water, you do not need to worry about the mat itself molding or becoming damaged.

Consider the Cost

Think about the cost involved when making a bath mat decision. A good teak mat will likely cost about $70 – significantly more than a standard cloth bath mat. At any housewares store, you could expect to pay about $20 for a normal bath mat. However, how long will it last?

A cloth bath mat will likely need to be replaced every couple of years, at best. At $20 each, you will have spent more than the cost of a teak mat in only 8 years or less. A teak, however, will never mold, and is incredibly strong. A teak mat will last a lifetime, with little to no care on your part. Step One:  Get Any Credit You Can, and Use It Sparingly

Whether you’re young and fresh out of high school, or your credit history is too far in the past, even if you’ve simply never used credit before, this tip will help you build good credit scores.  Simply find something you need to purchase, something you can afford, and find a store willing to offer you a credit account for the purchase.

For example, housewares.  If you need furniture, check all the retailers large and small, applying for credit.  It might take a while – a lot of places might refuse you simply because of your lack of a credit history.  Stay at it until you find what you need at a reasonable price, at a store that will offer you a credit account.  You might be told repeatedly that “nobody is going to offer you credit,” but ignore that and keep trying.

One possibility is to get a secured credit card, where your savings account acts as collateral on the account.  

Step Two:  Keep Your Credit Score High

After a couple years of stable credit use, you’ll start to be seen as a desirable customer.  You’ll start getting reams of credit card offers.  Don’t get too excited – be choosy about which cards you apply for, and continue to use them wisely.  Remember:  good credit scores are built by making purchases and paying them off quickly.

Keep a low balance, and pay at least the minimum balance – or even the whole balance – every month.  Paying even one day after the due date is a risk to your credit score.

Some other tips on building credit and keeping your credit score high:

1.    Never cancel a credit card.  Keeping those accounts open – even after you’ve stopped using them – helps your credit score.
2.    Get a copy of your credit report every 6 to 12 months and review it.
3.    Read your credit card bills carefully, and report any fraudulent charges right away.  Always call the credit card company immediately if you can’t find your card.  Many companies only offer protection against fraudulent charges for the first 24 hours after the purchase was made.
4.    Set security limits on your credit cards.  This ensures that big purchases won’t go thru unless you speak to the credit card company to authorize them.  
5.    Any time your credit or debit card is out of your hands, it’s out of your control.  There are true stories about bartenders using customers’ credit cards to “tip themselves” by buying things online!
6.    Get in the habit of checking your balance and recent purchases online at least once a week.

Follow these tips and develop the new habits described above, and you’ll establish good credit scores in just a couple of short years.

Kitchen Paper Towel Holders Make You More Efficient

After suffering through years of wet soggy paper towels, I have decided that it is time to end this matter once and for all! So I went to get myself a kitchen paper towel holder. After a trip to the local supermarket where the variety was limited, I decided to visit a housewares store nearby where I was greeted with a collection of wooden, stainless steel, chrome, and even plastic paper towel holders of various styles, colors and shapes.

With isles to choose from, appealing to every taste, anyone can easily spend hours looking. I decided on the normal, standard paper towel holder, a wooden one. If you have a large kitchen, with a spacious counter top, you will find it very handy.

But since my kitchen is small, closer to a kitchenette really, I could not find a good spot for my new purchase. Close to the sink is practical, but it keeps tipping off and falling and you end up with soggy paper towels again! My counter space is limited and I didn’t have a spot for it.

After this experience I decided to try the wooden wall-mounted version, in a nice shade of red to match my kitchen. Installing the holder was not as easy as I thought since I don’t have an electric screwdriver. I tried hammering away at the wall but it only resulted in a broken tile, and still no means of installing the holder. I finally decided to give in and borrow my neighbor’s electric screwdriver. So I installed the paper towel holder above the kitchen sink and it hasn’t let me down. It is very sturdy, does not take up any space, and in the same time makes the kitchen look neater than ever. Happy with my purchase, I decided to go back to the shop to buy one as a gift for my mother-in-law.

The salesman told me about different ways to install a paper towel holder other than with regular screws. You can find ones that install on the wall with glue, but the newer ones use magnets so they need neither glue nor screws. The new magnetic type seemed to be quite promising. Although I wondered if the magnets would hold up for a long period of time; because there would be no point of having to buy something only to replace it a few months later. The salesman assured me that they are very solid and durable.

However, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a wrought iron holder because she is very much into vintage and wrought iron decor. She was also very happy with a recent purchase of a wrought iron toilet paper holder that she had made so I felt like she would appreciate the gesture. Indeed, she did and commented that gifts that help her kitchen look nice and neat are always welcome.
