The portraits of Topspin and Twin Twist on their techspecs were originally reversed, causing some children a bit of confusion. This was eventually fixed.
For Topspin no mountain high enough, no river wide enough to stop this one robot wrecking crew.
Topspin’s bio indicated that he was something of a glory seeker, leading him to pursue individual battles at the expense of the bigger picture.
Marvel Comics
While Topspin only appeared as a single page biography in the U.S. Marvel comic series, he appeared in several issues of the Marvel U.K. comics. He was part of the Wreckers for many of the Marvel stories, taking part in such missions as Operation: Volcano, a trip to Earth to apprehend the future Decepticon Galvatron (which was foiled by the presence of Cyclonus and Scourge) and stopping the mad scientist Flame’s plan to turn Cybertron into a warworld. It was during a later mission to stop Galvatron (at the centre of a rift in time and space) that the Wreckers encountered Galvatron and his ally – a clone of Megatron, who literally blew Topspin’s head off.
Dreamwave Productions
Topspin is the brother of Twin Twist. When civil war broke out on the planet Cybertron between the Autobots and Decepticons, Topspin joined the Autobot cause.
When Decepticon leader Megatron and Autobot leader Optimus Prime disappeared in an accident with a space bridge, the Autobot and Decepticon forces splintered into smaller factions. Topspin joined up with the Wreckers under the leadership of Springer. Springer led the Wreckers to a mission in the Tagan Heights, suspecting that Ratbat’s Ultracons were attempting to secure the Heights. His team discovered that Devastator had joined the Ultracons. The Wreckers faced Devastator in combat, but were defeated. The battle was then joined by the Protectobots, who formed Defensor (Transformers: The War Within – The Dark Ages #2). After Devastator was defeated, the Wreckers retreated.
Eventually Ultra Magnus was able to reunite the Autobot factions, and Topspin rejoined the Autobots.
Topspin in as a character in Dreamwave Productions Micromasters mini-series. In issue #1, “Destined For Nothing”, Countdown and Groundshaker return from space to find the Autobot base largely abandoned. The first Autobots they encounter, Topspin and Twin Twist seem surprised to see them, and more surprised that Optimus Prime isn’t with them.
After the Great Shutdown Topspin and Twin Twist served as bodyguards for Shockwave, but were secretly loyal to Ultra Magnus. They later battled a rampaging Menasor alongside Defensor, the Omnibots, Roadbuster and Whirl. Topspin later joined Grimlock in battling Shockwave’s troops.
IDW Publishing
Topspin appeared in issue #2 of IDW Publishing’s The Transformers: Stormbringer mini-series. Topspin and the other Wreckers fought on the planet Varas Centralus in the Kol system when Optimus Prime redeployed the Wreckers for a mission on Cybertron. He fought the cultists under Bludgeon and later fought Thunderwing himself (in defiance of Springer’s orders), blasting Thunderwing’s leg and narrowly avoiding being crushed. He was later seen inspecting Thunderwing’s inert corpse.
Topspin appeared in Spotlight: Doubledealer where he was among the Autobots fighting Thunderwing on the planet Corata-Vaz.
Toys
Generation 1 Topspin (1985)
Topspin is a Jumpstarter, an Autobot from the second year of the Transformers toy line whose gimmick was a pull back motor and the ability to transform himself. He transforms by releasing his spring loaded legs, which flips him over, landing on his oversized feet. The toy that became Topspin is from the Diaclone toy line in Japan made by Takara. Some versions of Topspin sport the letters D.A.R. on the decals, indicating his original name, Diaclone Attack Robo. Topspin was recolored into the Generation 2 Decepticon Robot-Man X, made by Hasbro partner Antex.
The Transformers Jumpstarters toys were the subject of a lawsuit by Hasbro in 1985 where they sued a toy manufacturer for selling toys based on their design. Hasbro won the suit.

Where did we get the idea that sitting in a circle and opening hand towels or scandalous underthings was the best way for a woman to spend some quality time with female friends and family before her wedding? Somehow a bridal shower focused on kitchenware and awkward games seems to fall short of adequately preparing a bride-to-be for the significant transition involved in getting married.
Looking for a more meaningful way to usher yourself – or your friend – into marriage? Here are some ideas and rituals that will help the bride come away from her shower feeling nourished and connected with herself and her friends.
1. Showers for a Cause
The bride doesn´t necessarily have to be the one getting showered with gifts. Instead, shower for a greater cause, and give something back with a day dedicated to a charitable contribution that holds special meaning to the bride.
Some ideas:
Pink Envelope Bridal Shower -
Help the fight against breast cancer. Have a Pink Envelope Bridal Shower through the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. They´ll send special pink donation envelopes for inclusion in the shower invites, and guests can make a donation to Making Memories on behalf of your bridal shower. Be sure to take plenty of pictures, as they´ll feature your bridal shower on their website.
Green Bridal Shower –
For the conservation conscious, host a bridal shower that´s good for soul and the earth. Make the event focused on green causes instead of perfunctory shower games. Plant a tree instead of playing pin the tail on the groom. Serve locally grown vegetarian cuisine, register for eco-friendly items and housewares, and of course, make sure invitations and paper products are recycled.
2. Thought Exchange
Have a shower focused not on the exchange of tangible gifts, but rather on the exchange of heartfelt gifts like advice, emotions and feelings. Using the bridal shower to involve sharing and listening will help the bride connect with her friends and her own feelings about the wedding and marriage.
Some ideas:
Have attendees “shower” the bride with advice on being a good partner. Each guest can come with their thought to read aloud, or the maid-of-honor can gather submissions from everyone ahead of time to compile into a scrap book that´s presented to the bride at the shower. Another idea is a traditional recipe exchange with a twist. Each guest brings a recipe card, one side featuring the recipe for a great dish, and on the other side, the recipe for a good marriage.
3. Memory Lane Shower
Have a shower focused on reminiscing shared memories and friendships. This pseudo-separation ritual will help the bride reconnect with her old self as she prepares to take on a new identity.
Some ideas:
Create a memory book – asking every attendee to write a page or two detailing their fondest memory with the bride. Gather these stories along with photos into a memory scrapbook. Or have each attendee bring a gift that represents a memory – a cd of favorite songs from high school, a photo album, that old cheerleading uniform once worn every Friday. Another idea is a slide show of photos set to music, where everyone contribute some of their favorites. You can also play memory games; each guest describes a memorable past event – and the bride must guess the year, location, and people who were there. The evening is sure to provoke a lot of heartfelt reminiscing.
4. Slumber Party
Break out the PJs, sleeping bags, and tubs of ice cream – it´s time for some serious female bonding. A slumber party is another great way for the bride to revel in that special connection she has with the women in her life, and it affords her an encouraging setting to share openly any feelings she has about her upcoming marriage. Consider incorporating some of the above ideas into the slumber party – such as exchanging advice or creating a scrapbook.
5. Poetry Shower
John Donne, T.S. Eliot, Constantine Cavafy, Robert Frost, Robert Herrick… treat a bride with a passion for the literary arts with a feast of beautiful poetry. Have all attendees bring a poem containing wisdom or sentiment about love or marriage, and take turns reading. The evening will be intellectually enriching and inspiring.

In the world of high-end stemware design, rugged and low has been winning out over thin and spindly. Wine glasses without stems have been making a slow but steady inroads into the status quo of the beverage world. Cylindrical snifter-like glasses with minimal bases (if any at all) are fast becoming popular among younger wine drinkers. What starts with the young may spread to the old. Already, many food and beverage representatives across the country are setting up their wine tasting events with – ahem – stemless wine snifters.
Companies that have been releasing long stemmed glasswares onto the market have , in general, been the larger houseware corporations that have not had their finger on the pulse what’s “cool” in the brandy bars and chic bistros across the land. While “cool” is a completely subjective , if not annoying term, good marketers will do well to pay attention to its power. For example, as long stemmed glasses have begun to fall from favor, there is no longer a connection between long stemmed glasses and sophistication. In many circles, a stemless, “low rider” wine tumbler is thought of to have more cache and refinement than the traditional wine glass. Why ? It’s simple. Low rider wine glasses are cool.
Underneath the “cool” association runs a vein of practicality. Flashback to 2004: the launch of the Riedel “O” glass became the rage in urban wine aficionado circles. As the story goes, Maximilian Riedel (eleventh generation glassmaker from the Riedel family) lived in a small apartment with little space for tall stems. Many of us urban dwellers can empathize. Hence, he created the shorter, stemless, “O” glasses as a great solution. Max wanted a quality wine glass, that didn’t take up much space. Hence, Riedel created his own version of a high-end stemless wine glass.
These days, stemless wine glasses are a required vessel in all wine lover’s cabinets. When refinement is less important than simplicity, a stemless wine glass is a great solution. If you’re hosting a party with a lot of guests, stemless wine glasses can go directly in the dishwasher without the worry of stem breakage.
So one might ask, why did glasses have stems in the first place? For more serious tastings, the stem of a glass allows one to swirl the wine easily and evenly. It also prevents foggy hand prints which can muck up the look of your glass. Finally, holding a glass at its stem helps maintain the temperature of the wine. When a glass is held at the bowl, your warm hand can heat up the wine over time.
Perhaps the zenith of stemless wine glasses is embodied by Waterford Crystal’s Lismore Nouveau collection. The legendary Irish glassmaker has sculpted these sturdy yet elegant wine tumblers to fit beautifully in the hand with a delicately contoured bowl to bring out wine bouquet . The minimally cut facets in the glass recall a restrained Art Deco elegance that suggests even casual use to be appropriate. Perhaps no other glassmaker has matched Waterford’s success in pulling graceful elegance into almost rugged territory.

Paris Hideaways explores Le Marais
Le Marais, an area bridging the 3rd and 4th arrondissments in Paris, on the Rive Droite, or Right Bank of the Seine River, is home to some of Paris most scenic spots. Traditionally a bourgeois area, as the City of Lights has modernized, so too has Le Marais.
In the 16th century the aristocracy in France built large residences in the area (see Place de Vosges below), but as the royals relocated to Versailles, the district saw waves of various groups settling in to call the marvelous Marais home.
The Jewish community found refuge in Le Marais, as seen at the Agoudas Hakehilos Synagogue in 10 rue Pavée and on the heart of the Jewish Quartier in Rue de Rosiers.
Le Marais, particularly towards the North near République, is also famed for a strong Chinese community, and southwest near Saint-Croix de la Bretonnerie and Vieille du Temple a well established, if not very touristy, gay community is to be found, having established their presence in the fabulous and borgeouis Le Marais in the 1980s.
In 1968 Le Marais became the first secteur sauvegardé, or protected sector, of Paris, due to the abundance of so many museums, art galleries and historic sites. The building facades are all protected, which explains why so many buildings may have a misleading shop signs. That the shoe shop may be in a building marked Boulangerie (bakery) is of historical significance, not any sort of attempt to trick tourists on their trip to the City of Lights! Of course so many of these signs are vintage and truly gorgeous, some are faience, hand painted, sculpted and even made of stained glass and are truly a part of the wonder of Marais!

Or perhaps you would like to pull up and plop down for a rest on Place des Vosges, as it is one of the few squares where you can sit in the grass in Paris. Wholesale your products in B2B Portal could be tricky and different from the traditional channels like trading with partners or selling in the shops. Imagine your target clients only view your product photos and other specifications online. How do you convince them to purchase online directly?
Small quantity and amount
Attractive price
The clients can most easily switch to other suppliers online if they find your offering price is not attractive. The secret of being successful when dealing with the B2B market is that you need to keep the prices down and trade fast. The clients can enjoy the products that are latest and hot in lower price.
Latest product
Always bringing your latest and hot products online keeps your clients’ interest and freshness. If it is the ever-green product like nail cutter, you can always sell it in one style. For the products like houseware, fashion, or consumer electronic, should show them in the season. Don’t sell the surplus products online. If you want to do so, sell them in the auction websites.
Show your greatest trust to the buyers
The trust between supplier and buyer is very important in addition to your products quality and price. We suggest all suppliers should get the company verification with reputable verification company before selling online. After verification, the “Verified by XXXX” label will be stuck on your company introduction page and product details page. It gives the buyers the more trust on your company.
Better communication
Communication means the languages, skills, and response time. The fluent English speaking and good writing skills are the must in the international trade. In addition, the trading English terms will always be used when contact overseas buyers. You must be very familiar with those trading terms. In some B2B portals, they already enable the real-time communications via internet messengers. If both supplier and buyer are online, the real-time communication chat box will be established. The buyer can get the further information from the suppliers immediately.
